How to Create a QR Code for Google Reviews

Get more Google reviews by making it effortless. A QR code takes customers straight to your review page — scan, tap the stars, done. Here's how to set it up for free.

Why Google Review QR Codes Work

Most customers are happy to leave a review — they just don't want to search for your business, find the review button, and navigate Google's interface. A Google Review QR code removes every step except writing the review. They scan, Google Maps opens with the review form ready, and they tap their star rating. The friction reduction alone can double or triple your review volume.

Step 1: Get Your Google Review Link

Open Google Maps and search for your business. Click on your business listing, then click "Write a review". Copy the URL from your browser's address bar — this is your direct review link. Alternatively, go to your Google Business Profile dashboard, find the "Get more reviews" section, and copy the short link Google provides. This link typically looks like: https://g.page/r/YOUR-ID/review.

Can't Find Your Review Link?

Search for your business on Google, click your listing, and look at the URL. You need the Place ID. Go to the Google Place ID Finder (search "Google Place ID Finder"), enter your business name, copy the Place ID, and construct this URL: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID.

Step 2: Generate the QR Code

Go to the QRMake generator, paste your Google Review URL, customize the colors to match your brand, and download the QR code as PNG (for receipts and screens) or SVG (for printed materials like table tents and signage).

Step 3: Place It Where Customers See It

At the register/checkout: A small sign or sticker near the payment terminal catches customers right after a positive transaction — the best moment for a review.

On receipts: Print the QR code at the bottom of receipts with a short message like "Enjoyed your visit? Leave us a review!"

On table tents (restaurants): Place between the dessert menu and the check. Diners who just had a good meal are primed to review.

In follow-up emails: Include the QR code image in your post-purchase or post-visit email.

On packaging: E-commerce businesses can add a QR code to packaging inserts or thank-you cards.

Tips to Get More Reviews

Ask at the right moment. The best time is immediately after a positive interaction — when the customer compliments your service, when they receive their order, or when they express satisfaction. Don't wait until they've left and forgotten the experience.

Keep the ask simple. "Would you mind leaving us a quick Google review? Just scan this code — takes 30 seconds." People respond to specificity ("30 seconds") better than vague requests.

Don't incentivize reviews. Offering discounts or freebies for reviews violates Google's policies and can get your reviews removed. Simply making it easy is enough.

Respond to every review. When potential reviewers see that you respond to feedback (positive and negative), they're more likely to leave their own review. It signals that you actually read them.
